“A miracle for your hair”

This is how it sounds from professional hairdressers around the world. Olaplex treatment has got approval in quite a few years. But why? You may, like me, have sat in the hairdresser’s chair and heard the hairdresser talking about how amazing an Olaplex hair treatment will be for your hair. And you have probably thought “Is it worth the money?”

I have tried the Olaplex hair treatment and have now become much smarter! I therefore hope that this post will also make you a little wiser. But first to the basics…

What is Olaplex?

It’s the only product on the market that, with a very special molecule, can rebuild the broken sulfur and salt compounds in the hair. When the hair is exposed to heat and chemical treatments, it weakens and will subsequently have a tendency to break – but by using Olaplex, the damage is significantly reduced.

All products contain the same key ingredient, but in different dosages. An entire Otreatment consists of three steps. The first steps, Olaplex No. 1 and 2 is developed for professional salon use. Olaplex No. 3 is intended for subsequent home use. It’s possible to buy all products at home and experiment with the products yourself but it’s on your own risk.

Step 1 and 2: Olaplex No. 1 + No. 2

Should you have done a chemical treatment, but at the same time want to take care of your hair, Olaplex No. 1 and 2 are required. Olaplex No. 1 Bond Multiplier is used in connection with chemical treatments and aims to protect and repair the hair while the hair is being treated. Olaplex No. 2 Bond Perfector is used after the chemical treatment to restore the strength and structure of the hair. It is not a prerequisite that you must have done a chemical treatment to be able to use the products, but this is where you can really feel a difference. Both products can also be used as “stand alone”, if your hair is just damaged and needs a boost.

Step 3: Olaplex No. 3

Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector constitutes step 3 in the process and can be used to advantage after steps 1 and 2, as this prolongs the effect. The treatment is developed for home use and intended for all hair types, but is especially suitable for worn and damaged hair. The product works as a nourishing and strengthening hair treatment. It can not be compared to other hair treatments, because unlike a regular hair treatment, which often has a temporary effect, Olaplex has a long-lasting effect.

And now for what it’s all about…

Does it work?

I have tried Olaplex No. 3!

After some cold winter months without hairdressing treatment my hair had become dry and dull to look at. I have used the Olaplex treatment for 4 weeks and my hair already looks much healthier. I always blow dry and straighten my hair, as it tends to wave in some places – but it is not a necessity anymore. It has become much easier to brush through, and there are no split ends, as there were before. So the conclusion is YES – it works and I think it’s worth the money! So if you dye your hair or use a blow dryer / straightener on a daily basis, then this product can become your new best friend. Of course, I can not guarantee that the effect will be the same with you as with me, as all hair is individual and the result depends on the history of the hair.

I toke both photos after hair washing and blow drying. I have not used straighteners or styling products. It is just 4 weeks of use of No. 3!

How to use Olaplex No. 3

• Apply the treatment to towel-dried hair and let it work for 10-30 minutes – I used a comb to distribute the product throughout the hair.
• Rinse out the treatment and wash your hair as usual. I recommend to use Olaplex shampoo and conditioner to achieve the optimal effect, but you can also easily use a regular shampoo and conditioner.
• Use the treatment once a week. I recommend to use Olaplex three times a week if your hair is very damaged. The durability of the product depends on how long and how much hair you have and how often you choose to use it.
