There are many ways to remove unwanted body hair, but few are as effective as waxing. When hair is pulled directly from the root, this brief moment of pain can actually cause the hair to grow thinner and less frequently in the future if repeated often enough. However, there is no denying how daunting it feels to sit down and wax your own body. Not only is it self-inflicted pain, but the potential repercussions feel significantly more serious than anything to do with cutting your own hair or getting your own manicure.
The standard waxing method involves removing hair in the opposite direction while keeping the skin taut. This is often the key to a long-lasting finish - without this, the hair is removed from the surface instead of pulling at the root. Follow-up treatment is just as important. Remember that freshly waxed skin is sensitive - ingrown hairs are also common, often initially in the form of inflamed bumps known as folliculitis. To minimize the risk, exfoliate beforehand and avoid using scented moisturizers on the area.
To find a waxing solution, we used various products for hair all over the body and face to test how easy they were to use.
